Welcome, Welcome!

Welcome to “the” Sara Ross blog! I was a little hesitant to use the word “the” in front of my name. However, just my name was already taken! So… the brainstorming began, and this just seemed like the best fit.

Welcome to the Blog! It is so nice to meet you. | www.thesaraross.com

There are about a trillion and one blogs out there in the vast space of the internet. So why start one now? Well, why not?

Blogging has been on my mind for a really, really, REALLY long time. In fact, I had a blog before… one that didn’t get off the ground like I had imagined. What is the saying? At first you don’t succeed, try and try again!?! You can’t fail at something until you stop trying. I am sure you are familiar with Thomas Edison, where would we be if he just gave up after the first failed attempt at creating the lightbulb?

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is to try just one more time.
- Thomas Edison

If you haven’t guessed, my name is Sara. Hello! I am a 30 something… ok… 31-year-old mom to three and wife to one. Living in a small town outside of St. Louis, Missouri. I would call Missouri my home state, it is the longest place I have ever lived! I am going on year 17… I think. I was born in Texas, we moved to Arkansas and then Hawaii before landing in Missouri. I was what you would call a “military brat”. I never did understand that name, I don’t think I was any more or less a brat than any other kid my age.

I have been married to The Hubs for 10 years, going on 11 years this April. We were married in the court house and 5 years later we were able to have the wedding we I dreamed of. Our oldest, Big Shot, is 10. Our middle child, Little Miss, is 4 and The Baby is 1. These three keep us on our toes for sure! We currently live in the country aka middle of the woods. Legit… in the MIDDLE. OF. THE. WOODS. However, our home is for sale and we are on the prowl for a home in town.

Former Teller Manager turned Stay at Home Mom four years ago. I can’t believe it has been four years. Not long after I became a SAHM we started homeschooling our oldest, I did that for one and a half years before we sent him to a bigger school where he could get extra help. He has ADHD and it has been challenging to find the best learning environment for him. I do little part time job every once in awhile to bring in a little extra money for the “extras” we want to do as a family. Picture, sitting on the floor, criss-cross-applesauce and putting “push” stickers on top of shampoo bottle caps. It’s a total glamour job. Haha.

I am a semi-crunchy momma: breastfeeding, baby wearing, oil user, cut the chemicals and preservatives from the home, Jesus Lover (is that considered crunchy or not… either way it is part of me), on a minimal lifestyle journey yet loves a good Starbucks, the occasional drive-thru meal, still uses disposable diapers and wipes, and vaccinates my kids. I like to call it balance. Haha. Actually, I would just call it being me. One thing, I am not here to judge you! I will share aspects of my life and you may agree 100% or you may be like, “Yeah, Sara, that isn’t for me.” That’s ok.

MY GOAL: just to share and inspire other mothers. It is pretty simple.

Which, simplicity, is my word of 2018!!! Will you hold me accountable?

I look forward to getting to know you, sharing with you, and learning from you. Welcome friend!!
